Ed Griffith resides on the Space Coast of Florida in the small town of Titusville. He is a native Floridian born in Hialeah. At a young age Ed’s family moved to Lakeland Florida where he grew up and attended school. Lakeland is where he started his career as an aircraft mechanic, working for Piper Aircraft Corporation. Ed traveled around following his aviation career working for companies like Lockheed and Grumman. Eventually he settled in Titusville to work with the Space Shuttle Program for The United Space Alliance. Ed has been employed with the United Space Alliance for twenty years and is now a lead mechanic for the crawler transporter group at Kennedy Space Center.

As a young boy Ed had a friend whose father worked as a photographer for the Florida Citrus Commission in Lakeland. It was then that he fell in love with photography. Spending time at the lab with his friend’s dad he learned how to use cameras, enlargers, and film developing equipment. Years went by and though he dabbled in photography he never truly pursued photography seriously. Ed's interest were rekindled in the early nineties when he took a trip to the mountains of North Carolina. Surrounded by the beauty of the mountains he was inspired to revisit his hobby. Ed decided to brush up on his skills and enrolled in a course of study with the New York Institute of Photography. Ed started making frequent trips to the mountains and eventually built a cabin in Burnsville North Carolina where he went several times a year to shoot landscape photography. Almost immediately Ed was winning photo contests taking pictures of everything from people to Space Shuttles, wildlife and landscapes. Being part of the Space Program has afforded him the ability to capture some dramatic shots at Kennedy Space Center. He has met and worked with movie actors such as Tom Hanks (Apollo Thirteen) Clint East wood (Space Cowboys) and Bruce Willis (Armageddon). He has been featured on Discovery Channel’s Modern Marvels and worked with Mike Row in the hit series Dirty jobs.

Ed now lives a comfortable life in Titusville Florida with his wife Lisa a local physician. In his spare time he continues to photograph weddings, events and highlights of the Space Program. Several times a year he makes trips to his mountain home to shoot landscapes.
